Welcome to S.O.S. Resident Action Group

Residents and Councillors in Thornton, Well Heads, Keelham and Denholme are working hard to help protect our community and environment.

We strive to support residents, local businesses and to protect our environment to ensure our communities continue to flourish.

We continue to lobby our Councillors and MP's to ensure the Bradford Council Offices adequately enforce environmental enquiries and planning permissions as set out by the Appeals Decision 2010 so that Omega Proteins, a subsidiary of the Leo Group, fully comply.

Out of hours HGV movements to and from the plant reduce highway safety and plague residents causing unnecessary stress and prohibit residents from enjoying the countryside surrounding their homes and gardens.

The plume emitted from heat treating Category 1 - 3 animal waste and by-products continues to ground on adjacent agricultural fields and into residential properties. The stench seeps down chimneys, through closed windows and air grates making it impossible for people to escape the vapour that carries the foul and offensive odours.

Together we can make a difference and restore the pride of our historical community. Join our mailing list to receive up to date information and what you can do.

We believe we have a fundamental right to enjoy our homes and gardens, breath odourless air and enjoy our countryside.
